While you may have not done much this year 👀 enough to be celebrated, we’ll take a survivor any day over absolutely nothing. Sooo, keep your spirits up Innovator (you’re doing great sweetie 📷)!
When in doubt… always take the easy road
Have you ever heard of the Second System Effect?
It's a fascinating phenomenon that affects a lot of African tech Innovators.
Essentially, when you're working on a project/new solution, the first one is usually simple and successful because you're still learning the ropes, super locked-in and keeping things straightforward.
But thennnn, on your second one (especially if the first had been a success), or even while scaling the first one, you might get a bit overconfident.
You might also think, "Na me dey run this thing!" and start adding all these unnecessary features and extra serenren
Can you think of any tech solutions that fit this bill? Does YOUR solution fall into this category? 👀
That’s the second system effect in play!
The truth is there are so many innovators who are creating incredible first products that solve real problems. The challenge has always been maintaining that same laser-like focus and simplicity when moving to the next stage/project.
You know what they say “If it ain’t broken don’t fit it”. Here’s ours with a little twist: If it’s not necessary, don’t add it!
Whether you're developing a new telehealth app, something to improve local farming techniques or a new platform for financial inclusion, remember: simplicity often leads to success.
Stick to your core vision, focus on solving the main problem, and you should be jusssst fine!💡
