Y’know, between the endless notifications, news and new solutions that are being pumped out everyday, it’s a cutthroat game to grab AND keep users’ attention long enough for them to realize that your stuff might actually be great…
A fact that a lot of techies learn a little too late 😢 is that it is possible to have a really great and functional solution, but still struggle with traction in the beginning!
Attention has become the new currency in the digital world and just like everyone else, you NEED to be actively thinking about the kind of things that your users like to see and hear and how your solution can be rightly affiliated with it.
The average human attention span has shrunk to a measly 8 seconds1 (only a few years ago, it was 11 seconds) and even though we don’t have the answer for why things are this way, the next best thing to do is to masterfully play the cards that you’ve been dealt.
How much value can you pump out in 8 seconds, Dear Innovator? What can you say or do to put your solution in a good light in that short amount of time? 🤔
If your aim is to stand out in June, this 👆 is the short answer to it and it doesn’t just apply to your codes 👀
Users and customers will always identify with people and solutions that solve unique problems for them! If there’s so much info flying around, let the first few seconds of their interaction with you be a solution! … aaand you also want to do it in a way that feels real and authentic 😇
Working with real stories will always be a party favourite too, cos it explains and gives insight into other people’s lives and how your solution came through for them. Research shows that 90% of people are more likely to trust a brand/ solution when they hear other people talking about it2 💯
Lastly, when users do identify with your solution, tend to them and nurture them in a way that makes them feel heard and seen 💪 and you can be sure that they’ll stick around for the long haul.
