Who said African Innovators can't move mountains?? 😏
Salama, Dear Innovator 💫
Na wa o, so February don finish like this. Whuut!
Have you done any techie-things this month that’d make your high school math teacher proud?
Big or small, kindly toot 📢 your horn here in a way that pleases the Lord (We live for that kind of bragging!)
👇👇
Everywhere you turn, African Innovators keep doing the most and it’s so awesome to see.
P.S.S: Super sorry if this newsletter gets to you late. It’s still 4pm here (the issues with different time zones, right?) ✨😅
Here’s What’s Happening:
According to reports, African startups raised a total of $289 million in funding in January this year. It’s a significant increase compared to last year ($85 million was raised in January 2024).
So far, January 2025 ranks as the second-best month for African startup funding since at least 2019. Some of the major funding rounds included: PowerGen, LemFi , Naked, and Enko Education. Looking forward to more wins from African Innovators and founders 🤩
Moto taxis are a lifeline in East Africa (they’re cheaper to run) that’s why it was no surprise when the Rwandan government announced that all new motorbike taxis registered for public transport in Kigali must be electric.
With 1,300 electric motorbikes already on the road, Spiro, Rwanda’s largest EV provider, has been gearing up production to meet the demand as the new policy takes effect. Love it for them!
Only 2 ✌️ Days Left!
