What don’t you know...? 📢
Right now, Africa’s blockchain scene is flourishing and is driven by a passionate community of developers, entrepreneurs, and innovators, like you 🫵
These blockchain communities are not just building platforms but creating an environment where Web2 and Web3 worlds can work hand in hand (….na collabo 🤭)
Let’s look at some notable blockchain communities that are transforming Africa’s tech landscape. Follow the hand 👇👇
1. Base:
Base, originally launched by Coinbase, has been driving blockchain adoption through local initiatives.
This community connects developers, users, and startups to the broader Base ecosystem by providing educational resources, events, and hackathons. The community has notably seen growth in Nigeria, with over 20 developer workshops held in 2024 alone, helping Web2 developers transition into Web3.
Since the 27th of September this year, they’ve been running a Based Across The World Buildathon, calling on all builders in Africa, India, South East Asia and Latin America to solve real challenges 😍 in their communities, by building onchain.
Check it out!
2. Lisk:
The Lisk Community is super bullish 🚀 on leaving huge prints in Africa!
First up is their partnership with Fonbnk that allows anyone with a phone in their pocket to buy and sell USDT directly from local payment platforms like M-PESA, or even using leftover airtime. They also recently launched a Blockchain Incubation Hub.
The idea is to concentrate efforts on nurturing African-led startups that develop blockchain solutions, specifically tailored to address the needs of the African market.
These communities are doing the most, for real, and there’s plentyyyyy more where all this came from, Dear Innovator.
If you’re looking to pivot or to take advantage of blockchain technology as an add-on to make your product better, we have the resources, deets and gists to help you weigh your options while you decide.
Just say the word, and let us know what you think!

Raize is Raising The Bar!
We loooove it when a member of the Consonance Community of Innovators pulls out all the stops to make this tech thingy worth it 🥺🥺
RaizeHQ is spreading its wings, and is now available in more African countries! They are all about making payments easy and seamless, and they are making sure that more Africans get access to this golden deal in the form of simplicity, ease and comfort.
What about their recent achievements along the way? Don’t evennnnnnnn…. 🤭👇
Don’t you just love a good tech product 😍😍

Starlink is Shooting for The Stars 💫💫
Uh-oh 🤭
Word on the street is that Starlink users in Nigeria are now to pay more to access the services of the internet service provider, even amidst economic hardship.
While the sleek Starlink kits remain at ₦440,000 (no price change there, phew!), the cost for local roaming has shot up from ₦49,000 to a whopping ₦167,000, and a jaw-dropping ₦717,000 per month for int’l roaming! 😱
Regular residential users also aren't spared, with subscriptions doubling from ₦38,000 to ₦75,000 😱
Meanwhile, in Kenya, things are looking a little better, with rental options and cheaper mini kits. Maybe Nigeria could use some of those incentives too? 😉
