Here’s some more about Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) if you missed it.

It’s all over the internet that the SVB has been shut down in an unexpected collapse.

The public knows that SVB has played a significant role in the global startup ecosystem. However, what has been unknown to the public and admirers is that the Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) has been running at a loss for a while.

SVB was no longer able to fund withdrawals as a result of the increased interest rate, thanks to the Feds. It then sold its treasury securities at a loss to fund deposit withdrawals, but all to no avail. To cut the rather long story short SVB failed in all its attempts at recovery, hence the collapse of SVB.

Simple as ABC. It’s not even that deep. Or is it?

Now Companies are having to dissociate themselves from SVB, and give disclaimers. And of course, some previously banked individuals are now bankless overnight.

In the most recent development, the SVB CEO has been criticized for being too transparent.

Not to worry -No harm done to innovation.

HSBC showed interest in acquiring the failed bank and has successfully done so for €1. They have also agreed to take on the liabilities of SVB through this acquisition.
