Blockchain Technology: Exploring its Impact Beyond Cryptocurrencies (Part 2)
The blocks š§± are beginning to form chainsāļø
Hello š dear innovator,
We consider it no small privilege, to make history every Saturday by 12 pm and it's always an honor playing our role in inspiring innovation.
We couldnāt imagine a more activity-filled āŗļøsecond half or can you? Techies seem to have front-loaded this half of the year, cause so many launches and activities seem to have just been waiting patiently all along.
In the same vein, Elon Musk of Twitter needs to āTHREADā carefully, innit?
Our midweek check-in almost became a full-blown party šš courtesy of our Lagos Startup Week announcement. Check it out to find out š¤ .
Luckily we were able to keep it together long enough - at least just long enough to cue you in on what to expect this Saturday, now there's no telling what we did after š.
We are Community Partners For Lagos Start-up Week
We would like to invite you to Lagos Start-up Week holds on Monday to Friday which is the 10th to 15th of this month and we are community partners šš. This means that we'll be there to see you. Register here.
Uh-oh, look what came in right here. If this is not the Tech meme for today, I wonder what is š¤·āāļø.
Find it in you to laugh š at these billionaire banter one another, don't worry you'll get there too, just continue on this path of innovation.
Last week we laid the Blockchain foundation š§± by knowing what it is to start with and continuing with why you should care about it. We then ended things with a big āTo be Continuedā and here of course is the continuationā¦
While today could easily be about āTHREADSā weāve decided to keep it about the āBLOCKSā that make a chain āļø. BLOCKCHAIN!
Remember this is about about exploring the possibilities of Blockchain beyond cryptocurrencies. It has the potential to revolutionize various industries beyond cryptocurrency.
You might be thinking that Blockchain would simply impact the regular industries that innovation impacts and I'm not even about to start disclaiming that.
Yes, you don catch me, so let's get into it
Application Of Blockchain Where it matters
While you might have some industries you expect to be revolutionized, some might catch you unaware.
Let's get into itā¦
Intellectual Property:
If this does not give Lawyers and Judges most of their grey hair, I don't know what does. Maybe homicides and robbery, but till we can prove that, let's talk Blockchain and intellectual property protectionā¦
Blockchain can be used to establish ownership and provenance of digital assets such as art, music, and intellectual property. It can enable creators to protect their work, prove originality, and streamline licensing and royalty distribution.
With Blockchain in the business, hopefully, we can now rest from always having to solve problems of plagiarism between designers on Twitter.
Voting Systems:
Oh, how this would help Africa as a whole to fight a long-time enemy called ācorruptionā.
Here's howā¦
Blockchain can provide a transparent and tamper-proof platform for voting, ensuring the integrity of the electoral process. It can eliminate voter fraud, enhance transparency, and increase trust in democratic systems.
What a blessing š to all this would indeed be when it passes the verification and has become the order of the day.
Healthcare:
There's no way we could talk about the impact of blockchain and expanding Blockchain on its potential impact without talking about healthcare.
Blockchain can securely store and share medical records, enabling interoperability among healthcare providers while maintaining patient privacy. It can also help in clinical trials, drug traceability, and combating counterfeit medications.
With these few points of ours, we'll like to draw the curtain here and let your Vivid imaginations do the rest āŗļø
